My webpage includes extensive genealogies, histories and pictures of the following kin:

Joseph Stewart (abt 1740-1823) VA/NC/TN and Sarah Gilbert. Genealogies on all 11 children.

Levi Stewart (1812-1878) IL/TN/IA/IL/NEB/UT and wives Melinda Howard, Margery and Artemacy Wilkerson.

Abraham Van Hooser Sr. (1756-1834) IL/VA/TN/IL and Mary Williams

Elijah Averett (1810-1886) TN/IL/UT/AZ and wives Cherrizade Grimes and Johanna Christine Neilson

Abel Lamb (1801-1874) MASS/NY/IL/UT and Almira Merrill

It is with great appreciation that I acknowledge their descendants: Joyce Lindstrom, Eleanor Halstead, Monte Stewart, J.T. Stewart, Mary Stewart Hicks, Sherry Smith, and Ina Porter who have shared their records in order to make this page possible. A special thanks to my cousin, Monte Stewart who has shared his extensive professional research papers on the Stewart's. Without the uncountable hours spent by my nieces Trina Emery Linford and Debbie Emery Juden, this website would not exist.

Please take a minute and sign my guest book. It is also my goal to include many family histories and pictures. If you have family pictures and histories that you would like to share, I will be glad to include them on this site. If you would like a gedcom of any of these files, please e-mail me at

Come back often as updating will be frequent. It is ongoing and I am open to and welcome all additions and/or corrections. Thank you.

Anyone, who imagines that bliss is normal, is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey...Delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas, and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.
